Brown Estate. A Black-Owned Winery and I hope the first of many such additions to the collection.

Upon beginning my research into Black Wine Professionals and Black-Owned wineries, Brown Estate was a winery that immediately jumped out. It has a long time well-established reputation in Napa and I heard nothing but LOVELY things about the family. My best friend was elated when I told her I had tried the wines and was bringing them into “My Cellar” because she was one of the original owners of Carpe Diem in Napa and had the Brown Estate Zinfandel on her wine list since Day 1. Her exact words were “It’s the best! I’m so glad now I know where to buy some for myself”…

Brown Estate is known for their Zinfandel and there’s a great reason for it… It happens to be phenomenal. Think: Hibiscus leaves, potpourri, cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. Add some clove-studded mandarin orange, graphite, pine needles, lichen, bay laurel and now it’s a party! It’s beautifully smooth and luxurious with a seamless balance of fruit and acid.
