To start, it is worth discussing the 2010 Vintage for Rioja Alta. Overall one would say it was perfect. All the stars aligned and the fruit that came in off the vineyard was flawless. So this was an almost hands off wine, The wine making team didn;t have much to do besides process the fruit, get it fermented and put into oak. 95% Tempranillo 5% Garnacha and sees a total of 5 years in 3rd use American oak and another 4 years in the bottle before it leaves the winery. A powerhouse of a wine that will easily age for the next several decades. This one will go down in the history books as one of the best Rioja made in our lifetime.
