My dear Adastra… You little minx. You’ve stollen my heart vintage after vintage. 💗

Talisman is “all pinot, all the time”. They’ve been around for just over 25 years and only make less than 3000 cases a year, all Pinot Noir from ~16 different single vineyards that they have a connection with. Marta and Scott, I have to say you’re pretty darn amazing at it. Adastra Vineyard, in Carneros, is year after year, my favorite wine that they produce. I don’t know what it is either. They have “bolder/redder” pinots like Sadie’s, they have more “Burgundian” pinots like Weir but there’s just something about Adastra that has me coming back for more every vintage.

She’s whimsical 💫 Just when you think you’ve got her figured out, the next sip is different. Which is perplexing so you go back for another, which displays only more sorcery as it’s different yet again…. She’s not shy. I’ll have her with steak over a Napa Cab any day (well, almost any day) but I can still enjoy a bottle by myself… I mean by itself 😉.

I hope you try something Talisman that sounds up your alley. They really are a remarkable pair making outstanding wines. Cheers 🥂
