Scarbolo "Il Ramato" Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy
Scarbolo "Il Ramato" Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy
from $18.00
This really is a Pinot Grigio and, fun fact, Pinot Grigio is actually a "pink" grape. The name, Il Ramato, originates from 'ramato' meaning copper and 'amato' meaning loved one. The Pinot Grigio bottling is made up of hand-harvested fruit exclusively from the “Codis” vineyard. The juice is cooled and decants naturally, eliminating particles resulting from vinification (also means it's vegan). Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature before the wine ages on the noble lees in stainless steel for 5 months with frequent batonnages. Basically it's made like a high quality rosé, made by direct press, not "saignee".
