Saxon Brown Fighting Brothers Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Saxon Brown Fighting Brothers Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Saxon Brown is one of those special wineries. The kind that doesn’t come along all that often, that you wish you could drink every day and share with everyone you know. Well, I guess some can and I kind of am sharing it with everyone I know 🤔…
Fighting Brothers Pinot! Named after Jeff’s two sons (lol) it’s a combination of 3 Sonoma Coast Vineyards: Gap’s Crown, Roberts Road and Glass House. If you’re familiar with Jeff and his wines you might recognize Roberts Road and Glass House as 2 great pinot noirs from years past and he doesn’t make them anymore. They were both two of my favorites so I’m glad to have them back as part of this wine. Roberts Road was deep so it’s nicely balanced by the more red-fruit-driven Gap’s Crown. Really a great wine.
Bottom line: Winemaker Jeff Gaffner is one of the best winemakers out there. He’s truly passionate about his craft, without being a douche about it (Bonus!) and he’s just an overall great human being. When it comes to his wines, everything he touches turns to gold. So whether you’re drinking his semillon, his unreal Syrah or one of his 6 Pinot Noirs, you will NEVER be disappointed. He just nails it, across the board.
