Bodegas Muga, founded in 1932, is Rioja Alta’s premier producer and the Muga family are considered to be one of Spain’s most important winemaking families. It’s 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo, and 3% Graciano, and the Reserva is produced from a completely traditional and sustainable style of Riojan viticulture, which is also organic. Aged in a 80/20 mix of French and American oak, it’s spicy, succulent and balanced. Raspberry, blueberry fruit with black plum, cinnamon stick and citrus zest, velvety tannins and plenty of acidity to freshen the finish.
